The Iowa Biennial Exhibition of
Contemporary Miniature Prints - 2004

2004 Prints Awarded Selection.

The Iowa Biennial Exhibition is an international survey of contemporary miniature prints showcasing works selected from around the world. Selected from appoximately 700 entries, 35 works from 32 exhibiting artists represent 21 nations and a variety of print mediums, from traditional to digitally informed. Jury selections for the 2004 Iowa Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Miniature Prints were announced on Saturday, July 10, 2004, with the online exhibition available for viewing as well.

All works entered were submitted before a committee of jury members for exhibition selection. Distinguished jurors invited to participate are established professionals from a diverse selection of art disciplines within Iowa. The 2004 selection committee includes Virginia A. Myers, Peter Feldstein, and Dr. Rachel M. Williams, all from the University of Iowa’s School of Art & Art History, as well as Julie Leonard from the University of Iowa’s Center for the Book and the School of Art & Art History, and Shannon Kennedy from the University of Iowa’s School of Art & Art History and Coe College.

The Iowa Biennial Exhibition opened in its inaugural venue July 10, 2004 within The University of Iowa’s Project Art Main Gallery. The initial exhibit, located in the University of Iowa Hospital, was scheduled through September 30, 2004.
